Beautiful Cabin overlooking Private Lake | Excelsior Springs, MO

This lake cabin is described as light and airy in the mornings and comfy/cozy in the evenings. It is part of a 200-acre property that overlooks a private spring-fed lake and also has an outdoor patio with a grill and hiking trails throughout the property. The lake is great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and SUP boarding. It looks so cozy and relaxing! I’d love to visit and try out some of the hiking trails or kayak on that gorgeous lake!

There’s plenty of availability going into the spring/summer and at $168/night it’s a pretty good deal too!

The cabin has 1 king bed and a sofa, sleeping 3 people. It seems like it would be great for a couple or a family with one child. As I read through the description of the cabin, I realized it IS a bit of a glamping experience. Although it does have heating and AC and wifi, that’s about it as far as modern amenities. It states they have filtered water and a composting toilet. It has a gas burner for cooking and also a nice charcoal grill on the patio overlooking the lake. Not sure how I would feel about a composting toilet? But knowing that going into the experience, I think I could plan ahead and pack right and still really enjoy the experience, especially knowing it has a beautiful view and lots of great outdoor activities.

And the reviewers are really loving their experience. Here’s what some of them had to say:

“Hidden gem!! This cabin is beyond cozy and we wished we could have stayed longer. The fireplace was the perfect touch for a cold January night 🙂 We will definitely be returning and can’t wait to check out the rest of the property.”

“I Highly recommend staying here. It was beautiful, cozy, fun, and we had a great time. Melissa is top notch too, and is a fantastic host.”

“The land and view were beautiful. The creativity and workmanship of the cabin left you constantly admiring something. My husband and I had a wonderful stay here and hope to be back soon.”

So what do you think? Is the modern composting toilet worth it? Would you stay here? Let us know!
