Elegant Library Room in a Historic Mansion with a Pool! | New Orleans, LA

Whether you’re in to fiction or non-fiction, I’m sure you will find something you like at this Library Room Airbnb! As I look through the pictures, I can’t help but feel transported back in time to a real Victorian-era library! With its floor-to-ceiling rows of bookshelves and dark maroon walls, it would be so inviting to come back to this room at the end of the day, sprawl out on that bed, and dive into a good book. What an escape!

Book your stay at this property

Of course, this one is already booked for this year’s Mardi Gras, but it would still be great to consider during less busy times of the year, or even keep it in mind for next year’s Mardi Gras!

The Library Room has an antique cypress queen bed, an elegant en-suite bathroom with travertine marble tile, and your own personal balcony surrounded by live oak and palm trees. There is also a beautiful secluded pool and grilling area, which sounds amazing on a hot summer day in New Orleans! There are two other rooms in the mansion available for booking, “The Red Room”, and “The Haunted Room” (sounds intriguing, right?!) so there are definitely some shared spaces in the mansion, which is something to take note of ahead of time. The owners also live in the house and have 2 dogs, which all of the reviewers seem to love. They take Covid precautions seriously and ask that guests share their vaccination status and wear masks in common spaces.

Guests are loving the location of the mansion, in the Garden District very close to Lafayette Cemetery, the historic St. Charles Streetcar line, and about 15 minutes to the French Quarter. I went to New Orleans several years ago and the Garden District was my absolute favorite neighborhood. I loved seeing the variety of historic architectural styles amidst the live oak trees and Spanish moss. And there is a lot to explore, including historic cemeteries and some great restaurants and shops, easily accessible to the streetcar line, but away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. For some more details about guests’ experience in “The Library Room”, check out these reviews:

“The Library Room is absolutely gorgeous and has a serene private balcony, shaded by trees, overlooking the street. The warm chandelier lighting, floor to ceiling bookcases, and cute stuffed gator pillow on the bed really set a cozy, mysterious mood that we love! And the location is just perfect! It’s in a quiet and scenic neighborhood in the Garden District and a short walk to Lafayette Cemetery and to the historic streetcar (which we loved to take to one of our favorite vegan restaurants, Seed, the WW2 Museum, and into the French Quarter!)”

-“I love this house and it’s hostess, Adrienne! Beautiful home! The art and decor is 100% my kind of New Orleans, Victorian crossed with folk! Location is perfect if you’re walking or driving. I highly suggest this lovely stay. Don’t forget to love on those super cool pups!”

“Wow. What a phenomenal spot to stay at. The library room was incredible. The room and adjoining balcony was great! Adrienne was very hospitable and her cute doggos really made it feel homey. Great location- only a few blocks from magazine st and 15 min from bourbon. We’ll definitely be coming back!”
