Futuristic Earthouse with lots of Natural Light | Springfield, MO

This one reminds me of what we thought the future would look like in the 80s. A stark white minimalist interior and repeated geometric shapes featured throughout the house, I’m not sure if I would feel like I was going back to the 80s or speeding into the future? Either way, I’d love to visit and find out for myself! I never thought an underground house could have so much natural light, but this one actually does because it is built into the hillside and has lots of large windows and skylights. With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, sleeping 8 people, it would be perfect for a large family get-together or a group of friends.

Book your stay at this property

There is a lot of availability right now so check in with your family and friends and put this one at the top of your list!

In addition to the spacious and relaxing interior, there are some great outdoor spaces to enjoy during your visit as well. There is a large rustic modern 6-person outdoor dining table, a gas grill, fire pit, garden and outdoor seating. And being from the Branson area, which is just south of Springfield, I know that there is a LOT to do while you visit the area. There are some one-of-a kind cave tours, The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, the Springfield Cardinals Minor League Baseball team, the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden and the Dickerson Park Zoo. Or about 45 minutes south of Springfield, you will find lots of interesting things to do in my home town of Branson, like a day on a boat on Table Rock Lake or a visit to one of my personal favorites, an old-time theme park named Silver Dollar City. You definitely won’t run out of things to do!

Read why reviewers are giving this one 5 star reviews:

“James Bond would stay here if he came to Springfield. Earthouse is the place for anyone looking for more — a lot more — than a hotel can provide. The setting is spectacular and the design and decor are exactly as shown in the numerous photos in the listing. It was perfectly clean and so many nice special touches (original architectural drawings, design books, firewood, wine, coffee and local chocolates) made this an extremely special place. The bed was so comfortable. I would give this 6 stars if I could but 5 will have to do on the Airbnb scale. We’ll be back!”

“This is one of the most contemporary and luxurious Airbnb‘s I’ve had the opportunity of experiencing. The Earth House is an example of stepping into a fully functional, livable, architectural museum. The craftsmanship is amazing and awe Inspiring.”

“Fabulous experience again at Earthouse. My sister and I stayed for the second time and give this gorgeous place an A+. The beds are so comfortable and you’ll find everything you need for a short or long visit.”
