Historic Manor with Pool near Wine Country! | Purcellville, VA

This house seems to have it all! Built in 1752, it’s a former Inn that is one of the oldest homes in Loudon County, Virginia and it has retained so many of its beautiful historic features while also having all of the modern updates to make it comfortable. This house just seems to have a little something for everybody. History buffs would love all of the historic features, like the ceiling beams, exposed brick walls, and the 2 antique stone fireplaces. Wine enthusiasts would love that this house is just 10 minutes away from some of the area’s best wineries. Outdoor adventurers would love that this house sits on 66 acres of beautiful rolling hills and comes with a pond you can fish in (only in the summer). And for the professional relaxers, there is an inviting pool with beautiful views of the countryside!

There is a lot of availability for the spring/summer so now would be a great time to start planning your family reunion!

Can you imagine staying in a house that was built before the Revolutionary War?! For me it’s the wooden beams on the walls and ceilings and those giant stone fireplaces that really take me back in time. This house was expanded and updated in the 1950s and continued to be updated lovingly throughout the years. All the kitchen appliances are updated and modern and there is heating and air conditioning and wifi (although the owner does note that there is no A/C in the kitchen and living room on the main level of the home and wifi can be a bit slow occasionally). Just one of the quirks of a historic home!

This house has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, two rooms with king beds, 2 rooms with queen beds, and 1 room with bunk beds. Based on its size, it would be perfect for a large family get-together.

I would recommend booking this house sometime between June – September when the pool is open because that pool looks absolutely amazing! There are so many great outdoor lounging spaces and even a pizza oven. The owner states that you can hike up the hill for more beautiful views of the hillside, watch cows graze nearby, and fish in the pond during the summer (there’s a strict catch and release policy in place).

Here is what some of the reviewers on Airbnb had to say about this house:

“Great, historic home in a beautiful setting. There are at least 10 wineries within 10 minutes of the property. Rafting and tubing at Harpers Ferry Adventure Center are within 15 minutes. And if you don’t want to go anywhere, the home itself also has a beautiful pool and patio, as well as a large outdoor fireplace area. Cooking was easy due to the updated appliances that worked very well. Most of all, Priya has a very clean and comfortable home.”

-“Beautiful home with something for everyone! We had an awesome family vacation and the property was perfect for little kids. Great afternoons by the pool, walks on the property, visits to local towns and vineyards and awesome dinners using the pizza oven. We’ll certainly be back again!”

“The Buckskin Manor family vacation has relaxing, calm and therapeutic! The perfect environment to wind down with loved ones for real quality time! Although the Manor is very historic it’s equipped with all the right amenities to ensure modern convenience. I highly recommend this estate! You won’t regret it!”
