One of the best Airbnbs for Viewing Fall Foliage! A Series of Treehouses with a Wood-Fired Cedar Hot Tub | Georgetown, ME

You had me at “wood-fired cedar hot tub”! This series of treehouses includes two houses connected by a swinging bridge and a third structure which is home to the wood-fired cedar hot tub. This Airbnb has been featured on multiple lists of best places for viewing fall foliage. It sits on 21 acres of forested property and overlooks the Back River and conservation land. I’d love to visit in the fall!

Book your stay at this property

There’s actually one weekend open after Thanksgiving and then a few more dates open in December. Keep checking back for cancellations or plan ahead for next year!

The Layout

The first treehouse is a two-level structure. Up a spiral staircase is the master suite with a king bed facing a beautiful wall of repurposed windows. Downstairs is a small kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rocking chairs. Walk across the swinging bridge and you will find the next treehouse, which can either be set up as a living room or a second bedroom. And as you cross the next swinging bridge, you will get to the hot tub. That’s where I’d be hanging out!

“My family and I just returned from a stay at Souhegan and it was incredible. It was truly a magical place to stay, from the views, the beautiful treehouses, the decor, the cedar hot tub, it was a wonderful time! We will certainly be going back!”

“This was our second visit to the treehouses and they impressed just the same this time around. Our first visit had been in early November and we loved the cool nights and days. It was a pleasant surprise visiting in late July when there was a heat wave in the Boston area, only to find cool nights in the trees. We spent a lot of time soaking in the hot tub. Mosquitos are ruthless in Maine in the summer, but only bothersome in the late afternoon and evenings. The beds are super-comfortable and lounging on the screened in deck was awesome. We had all of the window up between the kitchen area and the deck and loved the breeze and sounds of the forest. We found a fantastic restaurant in Wiscasset (about 20 minutes away) on Water Street for dinner which we visited twice. And for breakfast, Mae’s in Bathe was amazing. We spent a day at Popham Beach was one of the most beautiful beach days we’d ever experienced. The tides we’re striking and at times, created a lazy river to float down. We love this part of Maine and will definitely be back!”
