Rent a Private Island off of the Florida Keys | Marathon, FL

Bear with me, this island has a main house with a wrap around porch, a guest house, heated pool, boat dock with fishing poles and paddleboards, and a helicopter pad. If you don’t have your own boat, don’t worry…the island comes with a 21′ Carolina Skiff for transportation to and from the property. This seems like the ultimate Florida keys sanctuary, i’d maybe be a little wary about large storms though. But with a view like that and the tranquil and soothing waters, I wouldn’t think about that during my stay.

You’ll want to know that there is a 7-night minimum and the average price per night is $1800. So round up some friends!

At first, the price did jump at me. But after going through the listing it seems justified, what do you think?

There is only one review of this Airbnb, read through it if you want an insight into this island!

  • Hosts were very nice and helpful giving the tour of the island. Quick communication with a few questions we had. You will need a slight adventurous mindset which is the best part other than the 360 view. Obviously some boat driving experience docking and driving. It does have all the luxuries (other than a dishwasher but we just bought paper products then cleaned a few dinner plates and pans by hand so wasn’t an issue). The pics are accurate of the inside but def don’t do the views justice. There’s a slight celebrity feeling when there bc every boat (lots of boats) stare at you when they pass bc curious of who’s there staying I guess. Didn’t matter if storming, breezy or calm all weather was enjoyable to view. Pool had a heated end which was nice at night when moon was out and there was ZERO noises of neighbors etc. Extremely relaxing. We planned lots of activities and shuffling to mainland multiple times was never an issue. Curtains in master blocked out enough am sun so u can sleep in if wanted to and if u don’t bring your 3yo. Linens and beds are very nice and comfy. Owner and his family are very welcoming, down to earth, and helpful people who are generous to share this one of a kind house that’s been in their family for about 30yrs. Next time will plan less off island actives and do more snorkeling around the island and hammock naps. Helicopter tour pick up on the pad by the pool was a nice surprise to others and is a must do imo.

Some things to note before booking your stay, you get the entire island to yourself and pets ARE allowed!
