1877 District 9 SchoolHouse Turned Airbnb | Granby, CT

From functioning as a schoolhouse from 1877 until 1948, you know this comes with a history! And although it was turned into a home in the late 40s, a lot of the original elements were kept; like the high ceilings, New England windows with wavy glass, and the Douglas Fir and Pine flooring. Antiques and mid-century elements are sprinkled throughout the space as well. The house features 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living space, reading area, kitchen, and dining area. Outside you can find a large deck, a koi pond, a fire pit area, a patio, and a chicken coop. You’ll like to know that you only have one neighbor and there are thousands of acres surrounding you. So this is very private but less than 4 miles to town.

Let’s see what some of the past guests had to say about this rental:

  • If you’re anywhere close to this place, it’s definitely worth the stay! The schoolhouse was clean, cozy, and very charming! Everyone was extremely responsive and gave wonderful resources regarding what to do in the Granby area. My family and I would absolutely stay here again!
  • This place was so amazing we want to make it a yearly getaway! The city of Granby is amazing. The people are friendly and helpful. Very safe area with lots to do and amazing food to eat. Loved that the only chain restaurants we saw was a Starbucks, but Lock, Stock and Bagel was way better!!!!

Things to note before booking, there is WiFi, pets are allowed here, visitors have to be pre-approved, quiet hours are after 10PM, and there may be garage space during the winter months!
