I don’t usually think of mid-century when I think of a farm stay, but this spot has such an eclectic blend of mid-century and bohemian vibes and is also surrounded by the most adorable farm animals! What a unique opportunity and just 20 miles from DC! They even offer wedding packages if you are so inclined!

I just love scrolling through the pictures and seeing the unique blend of mid-century modern architecture and bohemian artistic touches that create the most relaxing ambiance in this house. There are plenty of books, records, and even musical instruments here so you can really get in touch with your inner hippie! With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sleeping 8, this spot would be perfect for a weekend trip with your besties or some relaxing family time on the farm!
After checking out the house, step outside and see what a farm stay is all about! You will see sheep, goats, and chickens and also get to explore some great outdoor spaces like the hammocks on the back porch, fire circles, ponds, creeks, and even a glamping tent! The only rule they have is “don’t let the goats out!”
And reviewers are raving about this place with 100% of recent guests giving it a 5-star rating:
“I can not explain how magical this experience was. This is not just a home, it is a place where you feel completely connected to all living things.”
“We stayed at Frolic Fields for 5 nights and had an amazing time. It’s super convenient for day trips into D.C.! But even better, was spending time on the property. You’re surrounded by nature and immersed in art. Every time I thought I’d seen all the artistic pieces in the house, I’d find another little gem. We loved feeding the goats, eating fresh eggs from the chickens, exploring the fields, swinging in the hammocks, and enjoying the cozy lighting at night. Movie night with the big screen projector was fun too! It’s a magical place we’ll be sure to visit again!”
“We had an absolutely magical stay! Mina and Tim’s place immediately transported us. We enjoyed making a fire outside and making s’mores with the ingredients that Mina and Tim supplied. My kids got to hold baby chicks with Mina and even saw a baby chick hatch out of its egg! The hammocks on the property and on the porch were so enjoyed. The artwork and instruments were enjoyed in the home and the whole setting just opened us up for a very relaxing and special stay.”
So if you’re planning a trip to the DC area, this homestead is definitely worth booking! Come see why all the reviewers are calling it “magical”. Take in the boho vibes, feed the animals, relax in the hammocks, but remember, “don’t let the goats out!”
