Beautifully Restored Historic Home c. 1917 minutes from Downtown | Raleigh, NC

This 3 bedroom home sleeps 10 and would be perfect for a get-together with family or friends. It’s about a 15-minute walk to downtown or a few minutes drive and is close to everything Raleigh’s downtown has to offer including great restaurants, bars, museums, and shopping. This house is named the “Delany House” and was home to a physician/business leader and his wife, a college professor at St. Augustine University. This house is known as a “green book” home because it offered friendly accommodations to people of color during the Jim Crow era. The Delanys hosted many famous people including W.E.B. Du Bois, Duke Ellington, and Cab Calloway during their visits to Raleigh. I’d love to stay here and learn more about the history of this home and its owners!

“This is one of the best properties available in down town Raleigh. They’ve created a beautiful relaxing environment with all of the modern conveniences you’d want. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.”

-“This property is stunning! Its the first Airbnb I’ve rented where everything was just like the pictures posted with the listing. The house is a beautiful mix of old and new. The history behind it is facinating and its charm makes the space so warm and inviting. Extremely clean and tidy – extra linens, toiletries, cookware, etc. are labeled and easy to locate throughout the house. The host has clear instructions for check in and checkout that are easy to follow.”

“I recently stayed with two friends over a weekend, and we all agreed Emily’s place is one of the nicest Air bnbs we’ve seen. Beautiful, renovated historic home with high ceilings, vintage furniture and lots of modern comforts. Only a 20 minute walk through beautiful neighborhoods to get to downtown Raleigh and all the amazing restaurants and shops there. Emily also left lots of great recommendations for what to see and where to eat. Highly, highly recommend!”
