Haunted Civil War Farm House with hiking trails and fish pond, just over $100/night! | Gettysburg, PA

This historic farmhouse offers you a chance to truly immerse yourself in history. You are close to all of the historic sites of Gettysburg while also getting a chance to stay in a piece of history yourself. This farmhouse was used as a field hospital after the battle of Gettysburg.

Stephani, the host, gets rave reviews for being gracious and having lots of great stories to share. Reading through her description of the house, I was surprised to read that she is the only “living” host! Apparently, she has some ghost stories to share! I would be very interested in hearing more, but not sure if I would be up for experiencing them in person! Would you?

Book your stay at this property

There’s just a smattering of dates available this summer with a few more opening up in August and beyond. The house averages just a little over $100/night so it would be a great deal if you’re on a budget!

This Airbnb is for the second floor of the farmhouse, which has two bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two single beds. The living room, kitchen, and dining room downstairs are all shared spaces with the host. Past guests have stated that she offers a nice balance of interaction and privacy. She has 1 dog and 5 cats that live in the house with her so this is also something to be aware of prior to booking.

This farmhouse is part of a 100-acre farm with hiking trails to explore and a pond you can fish in! It’s just 4 miles from many of Gettysburg’s historic sites and battlefields so it would be a great jumping-off place for exploring the rest of the surrounding area.

Here’s what past guests have said about their stay:

“What a wonderful stay we had with Stephani! Her place was perfect for our stay in Gettysburg (clean, convenient, friendly). The property is beautiful and her pets are adorable. The balance between privacy and interaction was perfect as was having a second bedroom for our adult daughter that we are traveling with. Stephani gave great recommendations on restaurants and sightseeing. I would highly recommend her place if you are near Gettysburg.”

“A historic site and “A slice of paradise.” Those were my first words when I met Stephani after stepping out of the car. And they held true throughout my trip. Remy, her dog, is about as sweet as can be, the cats are friendly (though a couple prefer not to be petted 🙂 ), the house was clean while rustic and warm. If you’re coming to Gettysburg, I’ll assume you’re doing so with an interest in the history of the battle that took place there. I’ll let Stephani tell you the whole story about the house, but I’ll go as far as to say that it will make you feel as though you’re not just visiting Gettysburg, you’re living a piece of the story for a few days.”

“If you are looking for a relaxing quiet airbnb to stay at near Gettysburg, this is the place to go. Book your stay now! Stephani is such a kind, laid back host and she welcomes you into her house and makes you feel at home. The rooms are so beautifully decorated, the grounds on the farm provide trails to hike, a pond to fish in and lots of places to just sit outside and chill and take in nature. The best part of visiting this place is definitely her animals. Her dog and kitties will follow you around wanting you to pet them and give them tons of attention, such sweet animals. I’m looking forward to returning soon, wouldn’t want to stay somewhere else in town now after meeting Stephani and her animals, all other inns now seem boring compared to this perfect place.”

So what do you think? Would you brave the haunts to experience this piece of history?
