Wanting an out of this world experience? Look no further than the Area 55 Futuro House. Get this, there are only 85 Futuro houses in the world…19 in the US…and this is the only one you can rent and stay in! This is off the grid living so prepare how you would if you were going glamping elsewhere. There is solar power so you can charge devices, but why not disconnect by playing board games, watching VHS tapes, and exploring the grounds! There’s an outdoor shower and bathroom(yes there are lighted pathways), an outdoor kitchenette on a covered patio, and the couches inside pull out into beds. The house sits on 5 acres in Joshua Tree so you’re secluded while staying here. The hosts do have AC and heat for when there are extreme conditions in the desert.

All of the homes you can rent in Joshua Tree are pretty neat, but this one takes the cake. Staying in this desert is on my bucket list and has been for a while. I think i’ve found the perfect airbnb! This place is so unique and a once in a lifetime opportunity. With nearly 30 trails in this national park you wouldn’t run out of hikes to do! What would you do while staying here?

But the heater kept us warm, the cushions/blankets helped us sleep, the window covers helped block our light, and we had no trouble charging our gadgets.

Good news pets are allowed at this airbnb, but you’ll want to know that pets are not allowed on most trails in Joshua Tree! This place is booked solid up until July of 2023, but from reading the reviews it is definitely worth the wait.
