Stay in this Hobbit Earth Home Handcrafted from Clay and Wood | Weaverville, NC

Yes, this home was built from clay and wood found on the surrounding property…what a cool touch! It would really make you feel connected to the land. While it’s in it’s own little world situated in a meadow, the home is only about 25 minutes from Asheville. Although, I don’t think i’d want to leave if I stayed here. I’d want to really immerse myself in the whole minimalistic experience.

The home features a wood stove, gas heater, love seat, desk, and a queen bed. Since we are about to be upon summer time you’ll be glad to know that the windows and door have screens for air flow. There is also an outdoor kitchen, outhouse, and bathhouse all within walking distance.

Book your stay at this property

Books clear up in August, with the price per night being a little over $100 i’d say take advantage and book a night or two!

Read some of the reviews:

  • SO magical! We loved it here! I’ve visited a few times now, gorgeous property and the hobbithouse is truly one of a kind! Peaceful, cozy, relaxing, and great views too! Highly recommend a visit!
  • Wonderful earthen home tucked away in a peaceful holler. Loved the wood stove, building details, and quietude.
  • There truly aren’t words to describe the potency of this space and it’s surroundings. Such a beautiful, intentional and mindfully crafted structure that allows you to step away from the day to day and reconnect with self, nature, and the land. Magical.

Things to note, there are other rentals on the property so you may run into other guests at the outhouse or bathhouse, towels are not provided, there’s a good chance you’ll see bugs in the home, and pets are allowed!! This is a rustic experience, so expect just that.
