This Surf City, NC ocean-view beach house is awesome (and pet friendly!). We’ve stayed here and can confirm. The decor is what we’d call Modern Surfer-Chic, complete with an open floor plan and a full, separate downstairs game room hangout.

Book your stay at this amazing little family and pet-friendly beach house today. Do it quick as summer dates don’t last long for this one!
The house has two covered decks, so even if you get a rainy day you don’t have to be stuck inside. The front deck has rocking Adirondack chairs for that morning coffee overlooking the ocean and a picnic table for hanging out or grabbing a bite to eat. Meanwhile, out back, there is a screen porch that looks out at the sound, complete with a full dining table.
The game room for us, was the biggest seller, especially since our goal was having a relaxing beach vacation while keeping the kids occupied. This house had us covered, with a downstairs 2nd living space, stocked with entertainment.
The couch with the big screen smart TV was just the beginning. It also has foosball that can transform into a mini-pool, ping pong, or air hockey table. There’s also a wall-mounted arcade PacMan game, an XBOX, a vintage Sega Genesis with over 30 games, a record player (with some great records), a Tiki bar, and corn hole boards for some outside yard game competition (oh and there’s a mini fridge down there too!).
Attached to the game room is the home’s largest bedroom, which has a king and a queen bed, perfect for the kids!
Oh, and right outside the downstairs door is an outdoor bar, complete with an outdoor cooler and one of our favorite features…a massive, luxurious, outdoor shower. (Pro-Tip: It’s super private, so we ended up taking most of our morning showers in here!)
While the kids were busy playing, we were relaxing upstairs in the well-decorated, surf-themed living space, complete with a comfy couch, massive, 70-inch smart TV, and a great dining area, attached to the (well-stocked) kitchen, which offered free coffee and tea!
As for the bedrooms and bathrooms. Well, the bedrooms are spacious, well-decorated, and have huge closets, while the bathrooms were nice and clean, and were stocked with cute pump-bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
The house came equipped with sheets, towels, and a ton of beach gear (beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, and buckets), so really you just arrive and start relaxing.
Just steps from a quaint little beach access, we spent most of our days down by the beach. There are only 3 or 4 public parking spots within walking distance of the access, so the beach is pretty quiet and great for setting up shop with your family for the day.
The house sits on a quiet street with very little traffic, so it’s really relaxing. Oh, and it’s less than a mile walk to downtown Surf City if you’re looking for some great eats, good bars and family entertainment.
This little beach town is an absolute GEM! Our favorite spots were Shaka Taco (Taco Stand), Buddy’s Crab House & Oyster bar on the water, and Daddy Mac’s Seafood on the water.
Right across the bridge in Surf City Bridge is your morning go-to coffee shop, Diver Surfside Cafe which has great breakfast sandwiches, an amazing view of the intercoastal waterway, and even better coffee!
This is a great beach house in a great little beach town, perfect for a week’s vacation with your family or even a quick getaway with your fur baby!
I forgot to mention, if you book a week in the summer, you also get a free beginner’s surf lesson at Surf City Surf School or a free beach yoga session with your stay!

“We had an excellent stay. I didn’t expect the place to look exactly like the pictures but it did. I loved the blankets that were available in the living room. They came in handy at night when we were watching TV. My friend definitely took advantage of the Pac-Man game and I loved the mini pool table. The beach access location was perfect from the house and the outside shower was great when I came from walking the beach in the mornings. Although it was only the two of us, I can definitely see how it can accommodate more. I highly recommend this place and hopefully will return in the future.”
