I love the floor-to-ceiling windows and that wrap-around porch! This house was built by Norwegian architect, Bernardo Rostad, and you can tell it was designed with the intention of taking in that view wherever possible. The house has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and sleeps up to 5 people.
It’s located at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on 25 private acres. You’re also right next door to the Cataloochee Ski Resort & Ranch so it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a ski vacation. Or if you visit in the summer months, take advantage of that pool and some great hiking nearby!
Book your stay at this property
I couldn’t find any dates open until next April. Consider booking this one well in advance and read the caveats below to make sure it’s what you’re looking for.
This house comes with a few important caveats: first of all, it is on the top of a remote mountain that you can only access via a gravel road so 4WD is a must! It’s also recommended that you arrive during the day time so you can see the road well and print out the directions since internet/GPS may be spotty. The home has a Verizon hotspot but the internet is intermittent. The house does not have AC and it’s not recommended for children or the elderly.
Can you imagine cooking your dinner on that island while gazing out at the mountains?!
Take a look at these reviews:
–“This place is really one-of-a-kind, the architectural style of the house is great. The views are amazing. If you want a remote private place, this is it!”
–“AMAZING Air BnB! The pictures don’t do it justice. The space is breathtakingly beautiful. Very clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, the hot tub was relaxing, the pool was nice and clear, the fire places were super cozy! Perfect spot to star gaze at night; we saw several shooting stars! Getting there is extremely remote with loose gravel roads and if you are not familiar with the roads you need to arrive during daylight.”
–“The most amazing cabin ever! Expertly hosted with everything that we needed, very clean, a beautiful, beautiful location and just a great find!!”
What do you think of this rustic mountain retreat? I would love to stay here! Here’s another mountain house with epic views that we’ve featured in the past:
