Trash Can Falls 10 minutes from downtown Boone, NC

During my time in Boone, there were a couple of overlooks, hikes, and water holes I frequently visited. Trash Can Falls, also known as Laurel Creek Falls, was one of my favorites! I mean whenever it was warm on the weekend people would FLOCK to this swimming hole. There are different spots you can claim and everybody is pretty friendly about it. Jumps range from 15-30 ft, let’s just say I never jumped from a spot higher than 15 ft but i’d always swim. The pool can be pretty deep in certain spots, especially closer to the first waterfall.

The pictures definitely don’t do this spot justice. On days when there aren’t many people, the water can get somewhat cleared up! I have seen all walks of life at Trash Can Falls; people as young as 4 and as old as 70. It’s a sight to see and if you have the chance to jump or swim i’d say take it!
