This house has more availability heading into the spring. It would be a great place to come if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life!

This house was once a lookout site for volunteer firemen. The owners moved here after falling in love with the town of Julian and spent a year renovating the house, adding the solid oak flooring and the Jotul Norwegian wood-burning stove among other updates. They note that the sleeping capacity is 6 but it more comfortably sleeps a max of two adult couples and two children.

Here are some reviews from past guests:

“This house is in a gorgeous private spot, while still very close to town. It’s awesome to sit in the outdoor spa and just take in the gorgeous view of the mountains. Tamara is an excellent host. She responds very quickly and also offered several excellent local suggestions. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean. I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely stay here again when in Julian. It’s such a lovely place ❤️.”

“The cottage with all of its antiques was a delightful step back into time making the trip to the old mining town of Julian perfect. The location allowed for easy access to the best hikes in the area. And afterwards, getting into the jacuzzi melted away the aches. The cottage was well equipped and clean. Communication with the hosts was easy.”

“The space was well appointed with all the nesessities during our stay. Plenty of extra towels for stargazing in the hot tub, ample books and records to enjoy by the fire, and all the tools for grilling/cooking a great meal. Thank you!”

I love that the owners included this vintage photo of downtown Julian from 1949. They say not much has changed because it’s a protected historic district.
