We Stayed at this House Right on Smith Mountain Lake | Huddleston, VA

We had a great time at Smith Mountain Lake this past weekend and this is the spot we chose to stay at. The view from this house was amazing and it was rather peaceful. With the house being able to host 12 guests we invited our friends along too! The home featured 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms so everyone was able to spread out and be comfortable. There are so many seating areas in this house and believe me we took advantage of them. We especially loved the huge farm-style table in the front room…it was perfect for our game nights. This house does have a dock and a shed that has kayaks and paddleboards for guest use. We were even able to dock our boat here, which was great for us because we loved tubing and going on sunset rides.

It was a great house for a family reunion or vacation. Plenty of space and a lot for all of the kids and adults to do.

Book your stay at this property

There are some open dates here and there within the next couple of months, but books clear up in September. You definitely want to experience Smith Mountain Lake in the Summer!

I like how the house was centrally located on the lake so we were able to get to any parts of the lake easily by boat!

Overall Experience

When we first arrived we immediately went down to sit on the dock for a few drinks after unloading the car. The sunset was beautiful and there weren’t any boats on the lake. Little did we know there was a fishing competition going on that same weekend. We utilized the kitchen for pretty much every meal, it had so much counter space it was great for our big group. Oh and I don’t want to forget the hot tub! It was so relaxing and had a great view of the lake.

We went out on the lake every day during our long weekend. No matter if we were just cruising around or pulling a tube, the wind in our faces was refreshing, and looking at all the big houses was fun! There’s an island here that has 2 houses, a boathouse, and a shed. For 3 million it could be yours…

The Space

When we first arrived we weren’t expecting the place to be huge, but when we stepped inside and walked around it almost seemed like we were going to get lost! The outside was deceiving at first. The yard was pretty large so it would’ve been great for throwing some football or playing frisbee. They had what we think were Jacaranda trees in the yard, there were purple flowers that fell from them all over the grass which really added to the beauty of the landscape.

The large deck had a ton of seating so all of us were able to sit around and enjoy the lake view together. There were three different living spaces in this house, all unique in their own ways along with TVs. I don’t even think we watched that much TV while we stayed here, if that doesn’t give you an insight into how this house brings people together I don’t know what else will. Despite our large group, the house stayed relatively quiet and it was easy to get work done when needed or just have a moment to yourself.

The house was absolutely beautiful. It is big and comfortable with lots of rooms. You could have a few families enjoy it together. The outside is extremely pretty with a great fishing area where you could also store your boat, jetski, or any outdoor water activities. The kitchen has just about all you need to enjoy great meals with family and friends. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

Great place to disconnect and unwind. Beautifully kept grounds, dock and spacious house. This home has an intelligent layout that provides privacy. Great for large groups. Did I mention it has a pool table? Looking to returning here in the future!

Our friend, Tina Cornely

The house is great! Layout is nice with large living spaces between many bedrooms. Amenities for having fun on the lake were thoughtful. Good fishing spot right off the boat house. Perfect spot for a long weekend getaway or a week long lake retreat.
