Would you stay in this Mirrored Modern Marvel with a 100 ft Indoor Pool? | Joshua Tree, CA

Whether you call it an invisible house or a horizontal skyscraper, this one is definitely unique! It’s described as a “mirrored 22 story horizontal skyscraper” that “disappears into the vast desert landscape”. And ranging from $3,000-$4,000/night, you’d have to be pretty well-off to enjoy this one. But, let’s pretend we’re living that glamorous wealthy life and see what we’re getting with this house!

It was built by Chris Hansley and Tomas Osinski, a Frank Gehry collaborator, with an eco-friendly design and a goal to bring its carbon footprint down to zero. And I was pretty surprised to learn that this home was actually relocated to this spot. It was originally located in Venice Beach. I’d love to learn about how they moved this mirrored house! I can see why they chose to move it to Joshua Tree. Viewing the house from the outside, you have a unique tromp l’oeil, with the way the mirrored walls reflect the surrounding desert right back to you. And from the inside, I can only imagine that you feel like you’re truly outside with those floor-to-ceiling glass walls!

Book your stay at this property

There are a lot of dates available throughout the rest of the spring and summer!

The house has 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a 100 ft indoor swimming pool! There are three king beds with Temperpedic mattresses, two bedframes are made of marble and the third is made of two-ton solid glass. Trés chic!

One feature I appreciate about this house is the remote-controlled blackout curtains in the bedrooms, so you can decide when to let that gorgeous desert sunlight wake you up in the morning. But wait, there’s more, you also have a 13-foot dining table, a chef’s kitchen, and a BBQ grill outside that transforms into a firepit.

The house is located 10 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree and includes 90 acres of private property filled with hiking trails, including direct access to the Desert View Conservation Area of Joshua Tree National Park from the property.

I absolutely love looking at these pictures that show you how the walls of mirrors reflect the surrounding desert back to you. I think it would be such a wild experience if you were out doing some desert hiking and just happened upon this house!

Read why past guests say that this one is worth the money:

“Imagine a piece of modern art that looks like a luxury space station housing quarters or pool house from the future that dropped from the sky and landed in the dessert many years from now? That’s what it felt like at the Invisible House, one of the most spectacular homes in the world on all of Airbnb. This house is especially suitable for great getting photos, hanging by a dessert pool with fiends, and getting away from it all in style.”

“Totally incredible experience. Every square foot of this house provides unparalleled views and photo ops. The whole house is a breathtaking piece of art. Waking up in the master suite was simply amazing!”

“A truly once in a lifetime stay! The beauty of this home is unmatched. Waking up with the sun in the sunrise suite was an ethereal experience. And the pool is 5ish feet deep the whole way through, perfect if you enjoy swimming laps.”

Some things to note: this house may not be suitable for young children since the pool has no barriers around it and is located right in the middle of the house. Also, leave the pets home for this one!

So what do you think of this desert oasis? It definitely seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to me!
