Stay in this Reproduction of the George Washington Town House | Alexandria, VA

Although this is a reproduction, it does sit on the property where George Washington’s original Townhouse sat! Washington used the house as an office and for one-night stays in Alexandria. It was the only home built by Washington for his own use. During the Revolutionary War, he allowed friends and family to stay there. The original home was the only property he left to his wife, Martha. Over time it deteriorated and was demolished in 1855, but around 1960 it was reconstructed based on a drawing from a neighbor! You can read more about the history on the VRBO listing.

The home features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living space, a dining area, and a kitchen. Along with the home, there is a courtyard and storage shed. There used to be a stable where the shed is! The property is in Old Town which is within walking distance of museums, restaurants, bars, shops, and more.

Book your stay at this property

There are open dates within the next few months, but books clear up in November. This sure would be cozy in the colder months!

Take a look at a couple of the reviews:

  • My family had a wonderful stay at the George Washington House! The house is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, just a short walk to many restaurants and shops. It was clean, comfortable, and I would highly recommend. The pictures don’t do this place justice. Thank you for a great stay!
  • Beautiful historic home with all the comforts, on a quiet block an easy walk to everything in Old Town. Gorgeous patio. A special property, perfect if you want to live like a (very lucky) local while on vacation. Very helpful host! Would definitely stay here again.

Things you’ll want to note before booking your stay, pets are allowed but no more than 20lbs and there are three levels so if you have mobility issues keep that in mind.
